The library, for teams building their own governed applications
Workflow Designer
The same designer, workflow engine and form model our products run on, packaged for developers. Embed the designer, run lifecycles in your own service, and validate definitions with the same check at author time and publish time.
Engineering teams that own a regulated application and want governed lifecycles without building a workflow engine from scratch.
What it does
- The designer is embeddable: an accessible state diagram, a live lint panel and a diagram export your reviewers can paste into a document.
- The engine runs inside your service, against your database. There is no central workflow runtime to couple every write path to.
- The form model is vocabulary-free. Your product supplies the terms; the model supplies sections, step gates and structure.
- Interactive editing in the designer is the next step; today it renders, lints and exports a definition.
Portfolio
Processes Workflow Designer already runs. Each one is a published definition on the same engine.
- A request lifecycle in your own application
- An approval chain with separation of duties
- A state diagram your reviewers can read
- A publish gate that refuses broken definitions
- A form that changes by step
- A history that explains how a record got here
How it fits the engine
Workflow Designer is the engine itself, for teams who would rather compose their governed lifecycles than hand-code them, and keep one definition that both authoring and publishing agree on.
If it has a form, steps, a decider and a clock, it fits.
Proposed by the system, decided by people. Bring the form and the approval chain you have today; we will show it running.
